FITINDEX’s Portable Home Gym is a resistance band based training system designed to make it possible to get a solid workout in anywhere.
Utilizing a fold-up base that allows you to connect resistance bands in various positions, the idea is that you can get a full body workout without the need for any other equipment (or without having to go to a gym, which is a definite plus in the time of a pandemic).
And with an asking price of roughly $100, it’s a lot more budget-friendly than other similar gym systems on the market.
This all sounds great in theory, but is the FITINDEX Portable Home Gym System really worth buying?
Well, that’s what we aim to answer for ya in this review. In this article, we’ll take a look at everything this affordable home gym has to offer.
After reading, you’ll be able to decide for yourself whether or not FITINDEX has a winner on their hands here.
Let’s get started.
The FITINDEX Portable Home Gym
FITINDEX is a budget friendly provider of various health related products. I was first introduced to them through their massage gun, which I must admit, is awesome (I’m still using it to treat various soft tissue ailments I suffer from).
Besides the massage gun and the home gym system we’re here to talk about, they’ve also got a few smart scales and health supplements in their lineup, as well as a suspension trainer.
And when I say “budget friendly”, I’m talking like nothing in their store costs more than $100 budget friendly.
I actually think this portable home gym is their most expensive item.

The Base
When you’re looking at resistance band systems like this one, it’s the base that really sets these gyms apart from any other resistance band set.
Having a base with multiple attachment sites, allows you to perform band exercises more comfortably, because it eliminates the need to step on the bands when performing moves like bicep curls or shoulder presses.
Which, personally, is what I find most uncomfortable about using traditional resistance bands for these types of moves.
But, not only does the FITINDEX base allow you to attach the bands to the floor (without having to step on them), but it allows you to choose between 5 attachment positions on each side.
Having multiple attachment points is a good thing because you can fine tune the starting position for each exercise. But it’s also convenient because it allows you to shorten the bands for added resistance.
Think about how a resistance band works- you can get more resistance by using a heavier band OR you can get more resistance by stretching the band farther from its resting position.
With 5 anchor points at your disposal, you can attach a band at one point and snake it through a few others in order to functionally shorten it- which will increase the resistance as you stretch it.
The base has 5 anchor points on each half, making it easy to set up for symmetrical exercises.
The base itself is very lightweight and made out of plastic (weighs about 5 lb). It measures 33.8″ x 20″ when slayed out flat and it can fold in half for easy storage.
The lightweight-ness of the base comes in handy when moving this system around, but it can also make it feel a little flimsy during use, as several users have noted.
Portable gym systems have to toe this line carefully- make the base heavier-duty, and the workout will feel better, but you lose some of the convenience.
Speaking of which, the base has a weight capacity of 242 lb (kinda funny how specific they are), which is pretty light. If you weigh more than this, you shouldn’t be standing on the base.
Overall, FITINDEX took a page out of BodyBoss’s handbook with their foldable base here. It would be nice if it were a little heavier-duty, but the multiple attachment points on each half work effectively.
The Bands
FITINDEX includes 4 total bands with their portable home gym. These include:
- 2 30 lb bands
- 2 50 lb bands
The bands themselves are pretty standard, nothing too interesting to talk about here other than they do come with a cloth covering, which can make them a little more comfortable to use.
Keep in mind, with these bands, the more you stretch them, the more resistance you get. In other words, this is a form of variable resistance training– unlike barbells or dumbbells, the resistance you get here changes throughout your arc of movement.
This is nice because you can use this to your advantage. Like I mentioned above, if you want more resistance, you don’t necessarily have to add more bands. You can also shorten the band your using to get more resistance out of it.
Now when FITINDEX states that a band is 30 lb or 50 lb, that means that is the most resistance each band is capable of providing.
It’s nice that they include 4 total bands though, because BodyBoss only includes 2 (30 lb bands if I remember correctly).
But if you have your own bands, there’s nothing holding ya back from using them as well. As long as your own bands have a clip at the end that you can use to attach it to the base, you’re good to go.
Overall, I’m impressed that FITINDEX includes 4 total bands and that they provide bands of varying resistances (especially considering how affordable the price is).
The Attachments
The FITINDEX Portable Home Gym comes with the following attachments included:
- Workout bar
- 2 handles
- 2 wrist/ankle cuffs
- Door mount
- Storage bag
- Workout manual
Again, I think this is a pretty generous offering given the price of this system. The aluminum workout bar is 36″ long and will be used primarily for squats, but I think it would work just as well for overhead shoulder presses, bent-over rows, and bicep curls.
The padded handles can be used for pretty much any type of move you’d use dumbbells for. If you’re attaching to the base, you could do bicep curls, shoulder flys, rows, etc.
If you attach them to the door mount, they’d work well for lat pulldowns, tricep extensions, and so forth.
The wrist/ankle cuffs allow you to do moves that target your hips and glutes, like straight leg hip abduction and extension for example. You could also attach the cuffs to your wrist and use them instead of the handles.
The storage bag makes it easy to transport all your attachments. Everything but the base should fit comfortably inside, making it easy to take this gym system with you as you travel.
Overall, FITINDEX does a good job supplying all the necessary attachments. The workout manual is also nice, especially for users who are new to resistance training.
Exercises
The amount of exercises you can perform with the FITINDEX system is pretty vast. Similar gyms have claimed that you can perform 100’s of moves with these types of gyms- this is probably true if you count single side moves separately from bilateral moves.
Regardless, the point is, you should be able to perform pretty much any strengthening exercise you can think of with the FITINDEX gym.
Between the base and the included door anchor, you should be able to find a way to perform any move you’re thinking of.
That said, these type of resistance band systems don’t tend to work very well for bench press and deadlift. For bench press, it isn’t very comfortable to lay down on the base and try to push the bar up (plus the bands are usually too long).
Same goes for deadlift- it’s hard to get the bands short enough to effectively perform the exercise.
Otherwise though, the exercise variety is good, especially for how small and portable it is.
Warranty
FITINDEX offers the following warranty on this gym system:
- 12 months
Given how affordable this band system is, I’m kinda surprised it comes with any warranty at all. I think 12 months on this home gym is a nice guarantee and very fair.
The resistance bands are going to break down with use, it’s inevitable. The more you use them, the faster they’ll start to breakdown.
That said, I have a set of resistance bands I’ve been using off an on for years- they’re showing some signs of wear and tear, but so far (knock on wood), nothing has snapped.
Final Thoughts
I think FITINDEX’s Portable Home Gym has a lot to offer. I also think they’re very generous in what they give you for the price of this system.
Four bands, 4 handles, a base, a bar, a bag, and a manual for $100… not bad.
Overall, if you’re looking for a portable gym system that can give you a full body workout, this is a pretty solid option. I think the biggest downside is the lightweight base- the weight capacity is low and some users have noted that the base feels a bit flimsy during use.
But I don’t find that too surprising given the affordable price of this system.
If you’re looking for a budget option that can help you get in or stay in shape, I think FITINDEX is a smart buy as long as your expectations are realistic (and make sure you fall under that weight capacity).
